Viva Wyndam Azteca Jammy Ottawa, Canada

I went to this wonderful place with my wife, father and mother in a wheelchair. The skyservice flight down left a lot to be desired. I was wondering if the flight attendants knew how to smile. They seemed to be more preoccupied with selling duty free goods than taking care of the passengers. For example being allowed to use the restroom would have been nice. Sneaking a sandwich behind the curtain instead of passing out food to the clients was not appreciated.

Customs was non eventful because the flight got in so late and we were the only flight at that time.

Arriving at the hotel was smooth and efficient. The front desk has the check process down to a science.  My mother was using her wheelchair for the long walks. They have a handicap accessible room (1115) with a sit down shower and lots of room for the wheelchair. They were very pleased with the room.  Service was excellent. Always a smile and can I help you with anything?  I could wheel my mother from the street right down to the beach. There is a palapas reserved for handicapped only. Well done Viva Wydam Azteca. This was my parent’s first trip south and they were so impressed they would like to go back again some day.

The food was excellent. We especially enjoyed the Mexican night. There was a theme night every night in the dining room. There were 3 a la cartes and we managed to get a reservation for each one. Our personal favourite was the Mayan restaurant with the lovely garden beside.

Lots of features for the clients. Fully loaded gym with a trainer and a sauna/steam room in the back. Store on site. Jewellery store, beauty salon with  massage. Pay phones with phone cards. Internet stations at 25 pesos an hour.  Bicycles available for free. Short walk down the street to the left brought us to the playacar shopping mall, We had one concern with a store punching my full visa number on the bill. So I promptly suspended my visa card until further notice. I was surprised to find a Starbucks and man was the coffee ever good. *Just as expensive as home by the way*  Also you could use the other facilities and check out the shows at the Viva Wyndam Maya..  If you went to the right for about a half hour walk you ended up at 5th avenue. Which is a huge shopping , restaurant area.

All in all I think the Viva Wyndam Azteca should be congratulated for a job well done! I tried hard to find something wrong with this and I couldn’t. Everything was perfect.  They are a smiling hard working hotel machine.  I would go back any day.
