Departure Tax?
« on: May 11, 2006, 05:24:00 PM »
I'm sure I could do a search on Debbie's or Trip Advisor, but I know we have some Jamaica-philes here that can answer this one for me  :)

Is the departure tax included in your AI package or do you have to pay it when leaving and if so, how much and what currency?

Thanks. I'm sure the questions will be coming fast and furious once the reality of actually booking this trip to Jamaica sinks in  ;)

As you know Wendita, we didn't travel with a package, however, we did fly charter...we didn't pay any departure tax. I think it may have been included in the price.
I've noticed that the total taxes on other destinations range around the $200 mark...for Jamaica we paid $256 total tax. The difference is what makes me think it was included in the total tax amount.
Other thoughts and info would be appreciated for sure!

Your departure tax is included in your ticket.

You don't have to pay anything when you're leaving, unlike other countries.

There is a margaritaville at the airport, just so that you can one last red stripe or appleton rum or rum cream *sigh*  I really wish I was going.     :D

have your camera ready to snap some pics as you come into land at Montego Bay.  It looks like you're going to set down in the water.     :rof:
Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.
