Where to get new/ used wet suit in Ontario?
« on: February 10, 2015, 01:22:10 PM »
Marty wants to go diving in Santa Lucia in March.
He has lost about 30 lbs since he last went. His XL suit no longer fits him.
He does not want to spend a lot of money on a new one, because it might only get used once a yr.
Any ideas about where to find one would be appreciated.
Pretty sure he ordered this last one when he got certified yrs ago.
thanks
Karen :)

Hi Karen ,have you checked out E bay ? There are usually lots of wetsuits of all sizes for sale on there, not just second hand ones but also dealers advertise new suits at all various price ranges.
If you are not sure of the size you need, if you see a suit you like and it's made by Mares for example, if you go to the official Mares website they will have a size chart that will indicate the measurements for each suit size. This is the same for all manufacturers

Failing that, if it's only being used once a year, there is always popping into your local dive shop and renting one, or even renting a suit out there ?

thanks, Warren
I dont think we even have a local dive shop now in Brantford. We would have to go to Hamilton or Toronto.
I am looking at Kijiji ( sp) and ebay too..
I see Canadian Tire sells them as well. Probably mostly for water sports not diving, but might be ok for what Marty needs it for.

Costco sometimes has shorties for around $59.00, decent enough for the warm waters of Cuba.
Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.

The ones at Canadian tire would probably be ok for warm water

The dive shop in Santa Lucia has good Mares shorties. I used one, while diving there so  I wouldn't be Too concerned about bringing one.
